Yin Yang is the concept of duality forming a whole or two different contrasting things complementing each other. We encounter examples of Yin and Yang every day and it is also the starting point for change, be it in life or in food. Yin Yang restaurant is here to introduce you with the variety of delicious delicacies with the authentic taste of Oriental cuisine.
Yin Yang restaurant is a sweet little food joint in Lane 2, Happy Colony, Kothrud, Pune with oriental ambience, mystic relaxing music, the racks decorated with Chinese plate, kettles hanging, China’s most popular Shan fan placed on the wall and the white background giving it a decent look. In this restaurant you will come to know Japanese food is more than just Sushi and Chinese food is not all about Hakka Noodles.
The Chef here prepares food with hopes to share traditional recipes with a focus to satisfy the need of customer with his culinary skills and a secret homemade paste. He served us Tender chicken soup with chicken pieces pak choi, coriander laced with sesame oil. It was a perfect beginning to our meal with no need of adding the sauces served, especially with the monsoons outside. Next we had Chef’s signature dish Fresh and Crispy Lotus Stem, which was tossed in essential ingredients and it tasted awesome. Another dish we had from the starters section was Indonesian Spicy chicken, delicious chicken served in spicy lemon grass sauce. For the main course we ordered Khow Suey, Burmese delicately spiced noodles dish served up with an array of different contrasting condiments (tiny bowls of fried noodles, garlic, spring onions and some boiled noodles too) which gave it a burst of amazing flavours. It is a must have Clay Pot dish! Further we had Mie Goreng Indonesian Noodles, flavorful and spicy fried noodles, one of the popular dishes from the streets of Indonesia. Each and every dish we had was amazingly crafted.
We were absolutely full to the brim with the satisfying meal, but when the beautiful question ‘Should we get dessert?’ popped up, it was a yes. They only serve Chinese Darsaan Recipe with Ice Cream which is a traditional Chinese dessert, of deep fried flat noodles tossed in delicious honey syrup, combined with some roasted sesame seeds. It is an unusual dessert that you will absolutely love. The final thing the management offered us were blue and purple herbal tea made from a combination of dried blue pea flowers and lemongrass, it is making such a splash because it has some pretty mesmerizing qualities like if you squeeze lemon in these teas it changes color. The blue tea turns purple.
