At a time when Punekars are overloaded with various options for South Indian, Udipi food, it is commendable that Anna Idli is spreading its wings fast to all corners of the city. This week Anna Idli opened its fourth outlet in Bibwewadi , the first three being Baner , Dhole Patil Road and Kharadi. Although the food chain is only about idlis and dosas, it has carved a unique identity in last couple of years . The menu consists of varieties of idlis and wadas including steam idli, rava idli, kanchipuram idli, dipped mini idli , loni/butter idli. If you want to try something different Podi Idli is good. It is just like appe with podi chutney. Apart from dahi wada, idli wada , maddur wada , the outlet serves a variety of dosas . Podi Dosa, Mysore Dosa, Davangere Loni Dosa , Onion Tomato Uttapam , Ragi Dosa , Set Dosa stand out. Coconut Dosa is a modified version of cut dosa. For those who cannot do without rice, Anna Idli serves specific varieties on specific days including Chitranna, Coconut Rice, Curd Rice , Pulav , Khara Pongal and spicy hot bisse bele bhat. Butter Milk is a good combination with this menu especially in summers. The ambience simple yet nice with enough space between tables. The pricing is decent and not heavy on pocket.
